Advanced Treatment of Alcohol Wastewater Using CDOF Technology

Alcohol wastewater can generally be treated efficiently through biochemical processes. However, to improve the biodegradability of wastewater for subsequent biological treatment and to address issues such as COD not meeting discharge standards, the Shenzhen Clear Science & Technology Co., Ltd (SINOKLE) has proposed a new re-treatment process based on its independently developed products.

 

SINOKLEs proprietary CDOF (Cyclonic Dissolved Ozone Flotation Unit) technology creatively integrates advanced ozone oxidation, cyclonic separation, and dissolved air flotation into a single system, enabling the efficient and comprehensive removal of various refractory pollutants in wastewater.

The ozone catalytic oxidation process features a short process flow, simple equipment, compact treatment units, and a small footprint. It requires fewer electrical devices, has low power consumption and operating costs, and is easy to operate with automated control, thereby reducing on-site operational requirements. The system can flexibly adjust to changes in influent flow rate and water quality, offering strong adaptability and resistance to shock loads. It can also be combined with other technologies (such as biochemical treatment) to fully leverage complementary advantages and further enhance treatment performance.

 

Ultrafine/Nanobubble Generation Technology:

 

This system is centered on high-efficiency gas dissolution, release, and mixing to generate micro- and nanobubbles. These bubbles have diameters smaller than 50 μm and are characterized by slow rising velocity, long residence time, high dissolution efficiency, self-oxygenation capability, negative surface charge, and enrichment of highly oxidative free radicals.

Experiment Conclusions

 

Under an ozone dosage of 150 mg/L, the treated effluent achieved a COD concentration of 238.8 mg/L, with a COD removal of 186.55 mg/L and an ozone-to-COD ratio of 0.80. The experimental results demonstrate that this process effectively resolves the issue of COD non-compliance while significantly improving the biodegradability of the wastewater, thereby facilitating subsequent biological treatment.
